A Little About Lyme Green Heat

Beginning in 2008, Lyme Green Heat was just one man and a truck delivering bagged wood pellets. We steadily grew our bagged pellets sales and started dreaming of bringing bulk pellet delivery, much like they were already doing in Europe, to the Upper Valley.

In 2011, Lyme Green Heat became a Maine Energy System certified installer began installing and servicing MeSYS AutoPellet boilers. After researching the pellet boilers on the market, it was clear that the AutoPellet boiler had certain key features that would make for the easiest transition from burning fossil fuels to wood pellets. The AutoPellet is fully automated, self-cleaning, and does not require costly thermal storage that some of the other products on the market require. MeSYS AutoPellet boilers are also incredibly reliable and carry one of the industry’s best warranties.

At this time, we also put our first bulk delivery truck on the road. We partnered with New England Wood Pellet of Jaffrey, NH as our supplier of bulk wood pellets. We had been already delivering NEWP’s bagged product to our customers and were confident that this was the fuel we wanted to deliver to our boiler customers as well as other pellet boiler customers in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Since then, we have installed approximately 90 boilers throughout both states and have grown our fuel delivery fleet to include two 10-ton residential delivery trucks, A tractor trailer truck with two 28-ton trailers to service large volume commercial, industrial and institutional fuel accounts.

In 2015, with the addition of Rene Ferland, formerly of Tarm USA, we expanded our service and installation capabilities. Not only are we here to sell boilers and fuel, we aim to continue to service our customers once the installation is complete and the warranty period ends. We offer 24-hour emergency service and a 1-year warranty on our installation on top of the manufacturer’s warranty on the equipment.

MEET OUR TEAM

JARED BELYEA

Lead Delivery Technician

Jared Belyea grew up in a family dedicated to the forest industry. He has spent his career working in the forest products industry by providing trucking and logistics. He has worked with King Forest products, Foggs Hardware and Lumber, North Pacific Specialty Lumber and Britton Lumber.

Jared is our lead delivery technician. He has been delivery wood pellets with our special pneumatically operated trucks for the past three heating seasons. Jared has delivered to residential, commercial and institutional customers. He prides himself in making timely deliveries and delivering high-quality wood pellet fuel.

Jared lives in Piermont New Hampshire. In his free time, he enjoys Jeeping and spending time outdoors at his family camp on Misfield pond in Errol NH.

RENE FERLAND

Lead Installer and Technician

Rene has been a NH licensed master plumber for 25 years. His plumbing career started working for Dickinson and Son Plumbing in Hanover NH. After 10 years with Dickinson, Rene went out on his own and started Cardigan Mountain Plumbing and Heating. After 12 years of growing the business he sold the company and began the next phase of his career working on biomass boilers. Rene began working with Tarm USA, a NH-based importer of high efficiency gasification cord wood boilers. Rene helped to establish the use of pressurized thermal storage and designed many of the piping schematics that have been adopted as industry standards for thermal storage required of solid fuel boilers. Rene was also heavily involved with importing some of the Austrian built pellet boilers that LGH is currently installing and servicing. Since coming on board with Lyme Green Heat, Rene had taken on the position of lead installer and technician.

Rene grew up in the Upper Valley and has resided in Cannan NH for the last 25 years. He lives there with his wife, his two children, and their black lab. When Rene is not LGH, he spends his time working on his property, attending local school sporting events and traveling to his camp on Nash Stream in Northern NH.

SARAH PUSHEE

Office Manager

Sarah Pushee joined Lyme Green Heat in the spring of 2015. Sarah has brought many skills to the LGH team. Her work life has largely revolved around sales and customer service. She grew up in Thetford, VT surrounded by her family’s plumbing, heating, and electrical contracting businesses. Growing up around the trades planted a seed for a future interest in all things related to buildings and the systems that make them work.

After graduating from UVM, Sarah began working at Omer and Bob’s Sport Shop. There she developed her customer service and sales skills by working with passionate cyclists. While working there, Sarah began to become more interested in building and construction. Following that interested, Sarah took a position at New England’s leading HVAC wholesaler F.W. Webb Company. At Webb, Sarah became a trusted expert on all things related to plumbing and heating equipment and repair with particular knowledge of energy efficient products and practices. After nearly 10 years in HVAC sales, she was offered a position at a large mechanical company, ARC Mechanical. At ARC, she handled both major equipment and small parts purchases for projects, equipment delivery logistics as well as issuing subcontracts. Her current position as office manager at LGH provides her with the opportunity to combine her sales and customer support experience with her interest in renewable energy HVAC systems while working for a company with a family-first approach.

Sarah lives in Bradford, VT and enjoys spending time outside with her family, working in her flower beds, doing home improvement projects and biking around the Upper Valley.

MORTON BAILEY

Founder and President

Morton is the founder and president of Lyme Green Heat. He is passionate about wood pellet heating systems and innovative delivery technology and is constantly looking for new ways to improve the wood pellet heating industry. Morton has made several trips to Europe in order to learn more about wood pellet heating, storage, and bulk delivery. In these visits, he has had the opportunity to work closely with the OkoFEN company and bring innovative ideas back to the US. To honor his passion and commitment to advancing bulk wood pellet heating systems, Morton was awarded the Diamond Dealer award in 2013.

Morton enjoys sharing his knowledge of all things wood pellet and is a frequent presenter at local and regional biomass conferences. He has also worked closely with state agencies in Vermont and New Hampshire to advocate funding of biomass incentive programs. Recently, Morton has worked to increase connection to the local community by partnering with Vital Communities and the Local First Alliance.

Morton lives in Lyme with his wife and young son. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, golf and spending time with his family.
