Windham County Heat Local Program

Vermont fuel. Vermont jobs. Vermont heat.

Lyme Green Heat—together with Efficiency Vermont, EastRise, and the Vermont Department of Public Service’s Clean Energy Development Fund (CEDF)—is helping Windham County families switch from costly heating oil to clean, local, renewable wood heat with up to $21,000 in rebates and $0 down financing if approved.

Big Savings for Local Families

The Clean Energy Development Fund has launched a special program for low-and moderate-income households in Windham County to make switching to wood pellet heat easier than ever.

If you install a central pellet boiler or furnace, you may receive:

  • $15,000 for low-income households
  • $12,000 for moderate-income households

Plus, Efficiency Vermont offers an additional $6,000 incentive to all homeowners statewide. That’s up to $21,000 in rebates toward your new pellet heating system! And, if you install a system before the end of this year, you may be eligible for a $2,000 federal tax credit.

Whether you’re upgrading an old oil system or replacing an inefficient wood stove, this program helps make your home warmer, cleaner, and more affordable to heat, all while supporting Vermont’s local energy economy.

Yes—bulk delivery is sealed and automated and ash removal is a very easy periodic task.

Where will the pellets be stored?
We have options for compact storage in your basement and outside bins.

What maintenance is required?
We offer annual service plans. Modern wood heat systems are automated and user-friendly.

What if I sell my home?
State-of-the-art heating systems can enhance your home’s value. Financing may be paid off at sale with no prepayment penalty.
